Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andriy Kersikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flo Wer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by Russian Roulette. Wer has chosen My Sweet Lord by George Harrison as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Andriy Kersikov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andriy Kersikov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andriy Kersikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Flo Wer!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersikov is looking to land body kicks.
Kersikov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Wer scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Flo Wer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wer missing with a left hand there. Kersikov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wer throws a leg kick but Kersikov sees it coming and moves out of range.
Kersikov throws the kick towards the body but Wer avoids it.
Wer looks to score with a jab to the body but Kersikov is just out of range.
Wer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kersikov moves forwards but Wer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kersikov throws a hook but Wer blocks it.
Wer blocks the body kick.
A clash of legs there as Wer blocks the low kick.
Wer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kersikov manages to avoid it.
Wer lands the left hand.
Kersikov misses with a kick to the body.

Kersikov clinches up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kersikov stalling in the clinch but Wer improves position.

I was talking to Kersikov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Wer swings wildly with an uppercut but Kersikov uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wer creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kersikov's defenses.


It looks like Andriy Kersikov has been cut.
Wer misses with a punch on the inside.
Kersikov tries to land knees in the clinch but Wer avoids the damage to the body.

Wer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kersikov at a distance.
Kersikov throws a head kick that misses
and Wer counters with a good low kick that Kersikov was not able to check.
Wer attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kersikov slips a jab from Wer.
Kersikov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kersikov doesn't manage to clinch there - Wer circles away.
Wer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kersikov is out of range.
Wer takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wer misses with an attempted mid kick.
Wer throws a shot from downtown. Kersikov moves away and avoids it.
Wer wants to slow Kersikov down by chopping away at his legs.

Kersikov closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wer has a couple of punches blocked by Kersikov.
Kersikov misses with a knee strike.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kersikov misses with a knee to the head.
Kersikov putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Wer in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Kersikov swings wildly with an uppercut but Wer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kersikov throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Wer blocks it with crossed arms.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flo Wer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Andriy Kersikov's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Wer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kersikov.
Wer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kersikov throws a wild body kick that Wer sees coming a mile off.
Wer cracks Kersikov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Wer stuns Kersikov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wer pushes Kersikov away with a front kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wer just misses with a punch to the body.
Wer motions for Kersikov to come forward. Wer throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kersikov.
Wer moves out of range as Kersikov strikes.
Wer just misses with a punch to the body.
Wer with a jab.
Kersikov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wer to score with a decent uppercut.
Wer cracks Kersikov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Kersikov is rocked!
Wer connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Kersikov tumbling to the canvas! Wer pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Kersikov was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Flo Wer!
