Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mackey Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mackey Shain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shain tries to close the distance and clinch but Norris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Norris moves in looking to clinch but Shain pushes him off.
Shain wants to clinch but Norris slips to the side

and Norris counters with a single leg into guard. Shain didn't expect that.

Norris avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Norris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Norris stands and throws Shain's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Norris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shain has escaped the position, nice work there.

Norris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shain has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Norris but great work by Shain.

Norris manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Norris moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Shain wants to stand but Norris has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Norris working for submissions but it's allowed Shain to get to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Norris gets full guard.

Norris working for a triangle but Shain defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Norris throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shain escapes and throws Norris's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Norris is breathing heavily.
Shain wants to stand but Norris is controlling his arm.
Norris is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Norris manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shain's best efforts.
Norris is trying to get back to full guard.
Norris moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Shain is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Norris is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Shain frees his head nicely. Oh but Norris has switched to an armbar! Shain is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
