Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joeseph Moai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sanke Eye!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moai's corner calls for a 1-2. Moai obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Eye throws a lazy head kick
and Moai counters with a big head kick but Eye shrugs it off.
Eye closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Moai quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Eye is just content to waste time from the top position. Moai takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Eye looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Let's hope that Eye has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Moai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Moai wants to stand but Eye is controlling the position.
Moai pushes Eye off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Moai dips to his left and cracks Eye with an uppercut!
Moai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Eye takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Eye closes this distance looking for a takedown but Moai circles away.
Moai throws a nice outside leg kick.
Eye looks winded!
Moai shoots in and drives through. Eye sprawls well.
Eye closes the distance and clinches up with Moai, looking for a takedown. Eye pushes Moai against the cage but Moai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Eye shoots and misses
and Moai counters with a good low kick that Eye was not able to check.
Joeseph Moai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanke Eye.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Moai throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Eye is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Joeseph Moai!
