The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rome swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carter is defended easily by Rome.
Rome lands with a good body shot.
Rome misses with a jab to the body

and Carter counters with a single leg into guard. Rome didn't expect that.
Rome is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter with a flurry of punches that miss.

Carter is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rome is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
