PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Meitus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alicia Dawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meitus throws a head kick but Dawn moves out of range.
Dawn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Meitus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dawn tries to avoid it but Meitus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dawn to the ground. Dawn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Meitus misses with a low kick.
Dawn misses with a few strikes there.
Dawn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Meitus.
Dawn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meitus moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Meitus takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Dawn shoots in for a takedown but Meitus shows good takedown defense.
Dawn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meitus.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dawn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Meitus takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Meitus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dawn manages to avoid it.

Meitus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alicia Dawn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dawn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Meitus dodges the punch combination from Dawn.
A low kick from Dawn is predictable there
and Meitus makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dawn crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Meitus - the referee stops the clock and Dawn gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Meitus. Dawn manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Meitus swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Meitus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dawn to the mat! Dawn manages to get full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meitus postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Meitus passes Dawn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dawn is trying to stand.
Meitus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Meitus is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dawn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Meitus.

Meitus drops Dawn with a beautiful combination! Dawn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Meitus is looking for the KO!

It looks like Alicia Dawn has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meitus ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dawn is still on wobbly legs! Can Meitus finish him?
Meitus drops Dawn with a big left hand! Dawn is injured, injured bad! Meitus jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
