Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evan Better (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitar Zaprqnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Better kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mother by Danzig. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Better!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dimitar Zaprqnov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Better gets tackled into the cage by Zaprqnov. Zaprqnov maintains the clinch.

Better breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Better forces Zaprqnov back against the cage and clinches.
Better has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zaprqnov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Zaprqnov utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Better slowing the pace effectively.

Better breaks from the clinch.
Zaprqnov throws the kick towards the body but Better avoids it.

Zaprqnov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Better working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Better sitting in guard, not really doing much.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Better scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zaprqnov has an active guard here but Better has managed to pass into half guard.

Better is working for a kimura but Zaprqnov is defending it quite comfortably.
Zaprqnov tries to get to full guard but Better has control of the leg.
Better slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Better winds up and cracks Zaprqnov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Zaprqnov pushes Better off looking to stand but Better dives back in and keeps control.

Better is working for a submission of some sort.
Better is thwarting Zaprqnov's attempts to control the position.

Better is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zaprqnov defends it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zaprqnov is refusing to be controlled, as Better sits in half guard.
Better seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zaprqnov wants to get back to his feet.

Better gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Zaprqnov throws a leg kick but Better moved away.
Zaprqnov connects with a leg kick. Better looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Better shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Better decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Better closes the distance and pushes Zaprqnov back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zaprqnov is trying to force a seperation but Better has the dominant position.
Zaprqnov tries to break free but Better pushes him back against the cage.
Zaprqnov prevents the takedown attempt.

Zaprqnov breaks from the clinch.
Better misses with a wild body shot.
Better misses with a wild combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Better clinches up against the cage.
Better leaning his opponent against the cage.
Zaprqnov landing some nice looking knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evan Better dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Better wants to clinch.
Zaprqnov shoots and misses

and Better counters with a shoot takedown. Zaprqnov fights it but they end up in guard.

Better stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Evan Better is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Better throws a combination. Zaprqnov tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Dimitar Zaprqnov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Better misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zaprqnov keeps the fight on the outside.
Better takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Better misses with a takedown attempt - Zaprqnov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Zaprqnov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zaprqnov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Better fails in his attempt to clinch.
Better moves out of range of the leg kick from Zaprqnov.
Better looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
No luck for Zaprqnov with that takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zaprqnov closes the distance and clinches up with Better, looking for a takedown. Zaprqnov pushes Better against the cage but Better circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Evan Better has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimitar Zaprqnov.
Zaprqnov wants to clinch up but Better keeps it at a distance.

Better shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zaprqnov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Better working the ground and pound.

Better tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Better has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Zaprqnov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Better content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Zaprqnov throws a few rabbit punches from the bottom. Better was waiting for it though - now Zaprqnov's arm is in the perfect position for an arm triangle - he's tightening it up and Zaprqnov is forced to tap out before he takes a nap! Very clever counter grappling there from Better!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Evan Better!
Evan Better decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
