Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith slips under a jab.
Smith digs a good body shot into Macnturf's ribs.
A combination from Macnturf does no damage.
Macnturf keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Macnturf tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.
Macnturf manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith dodges the punch combination from Macnturf.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Macnturf.

Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Smith looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Macnturf is trying to stand up here but Smith is controlling him well.

Smith is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Macnturf is surviving well by controlling Smith's body position as best he can.
Macnturf knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Macnturf swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Macnturf on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Macnturf tries to get out of the position.
Macnturf has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
