Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nazario Selvas!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Selvas avoids the head kick by Park.

Selvas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Park manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Selvas won't allow Park to sweep him here.
Selvas is looking to work some ground and pound but Park has wrist control.
Selvas lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Selvas content to stall in guard here.
Park preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Selvas throwing strikes but missing.
Selvas is working Park over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Park bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Selvas's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Selvas holds on and takes a little breather.

Park controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Selvas pulls Park in close to his closed guard and prevents Park from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nazario Selvas was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Selvas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Selvas wants it to stay on the feet.
Park will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Selvas swats away the attempt to clinch by Park.

Park slips a straight right by Selvas.
Park tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Selvas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Selvas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Park was well out of range. Poor timing from Selvas.
Park uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Selvas.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Selvas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Park has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Park and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Park has a takedown stuffed.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Park enables Selvas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Park manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Selvas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Selvas connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Park some visible discomfort.

Park is looking for a sweep. Selvas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Selvas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Selvas connects with a nice short shot to Park's temple.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Selvas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Selvas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Nice strikes from Selvas there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Selvas jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Park throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Selvas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Selvas lands in his opponent's guard.
Selvas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Selvas distracts Park with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Selvas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Selvas's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Park seems to have got his legs back now.
