Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Hentry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hentry counters by moving into the clinch.
Hentry has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hentry wants to break free but Burns has control.
Knees to the body from Burns.
Burns is trying to pull guard but Hentry has him pressed against the cage.

Hentry ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hentry no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hentry has his hands on Burns's head, controlling the position.
Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Burns wants to pass the guard but Hentry is keeping the position.

Burns decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hentry, up you get!
Burns is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hentry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Burns rushes Hentry and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hentry tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hentry to the ground. Hentry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hentry fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burns avoids it really well and circles away.
Burns throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hentry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hentry fails with a takedown attempt.
Burns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Burns pushes Hentry up against the cage in a clinch.
Burns fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Burns has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hentry uses from the top position.

Burns has his foot on Hentry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hentry works his way back into a safe position though.
Burns might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hentry wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Burns lands a head kick. Hentry smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Burns moves into range and clinches up with Hentry.
Hentry stops a takedown attempt from Burns.
Hentry wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hentry tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Hentry jumps guard but Burns turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Burns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Burns shoots in looking for a takedown but Hentry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Burns's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hentry swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hentry misses with a takedown attempt - Burns sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Burns is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hentry to keep the fight standing.

John Hentry has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hentry shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hentry is breathing heavily.

Burns drives through and clinches with Hentry against the cage.

Burns tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Burns jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hentry walks away with a smile on his face. Burns gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Burns throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Burns or perhaps it was just good defense by Hentry which made him look bad.

Burns slaps away a takedown attempt from Hentry, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hentry tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burns throws a big shot that misses.
Burns tries to clinch but Hentry moves out of range.
Burns thows a body kick. Hentry tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hentry is defended easily by Burns.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hentry shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Burns rushes Hentry and presses him up against the cage.

Hentry gets tackled into the cage by Burns. Burns maintains the clinch.
Burns is pressed up against the cage. Hentry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Burns down to the mat. Burns avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hentry shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burns as he avoids it easily.

Burns throws a sloppy head kick and Hentry moves out of range easily.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Burns has taken the fight to the clinch.
Burns lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Burns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Burns ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Burns no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Burns is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hentry trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Burns manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hentry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burns defends well.

Burns is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hentry bucks up and throws Burns to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Hentry leaves Burns with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Burns shoots in for a double leg but Hentry sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Well Burns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
