Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bram Nijhoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Alan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alan with a poor takedown

and Nijhoff counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nijhoff.

Alan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nijhoff!

Alan has control of Nijhoff's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nijhoff regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Alan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nijhoff on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nijhoff tries to get out of the position.

Alan looking for a guillotine from mount but Nijhoff is having none of it.
Alan has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Smash Brothers. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

A close round but James Alan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Alan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nijhoff bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nijhoff lands a nice forearm strike.

Nijhoff tries to score with some ground and pound. Alan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Alan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nijhoff's best efforts.

Bram Nijhoff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Alan moves into full guard.
Alan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alan avoids the attempt from Nijhoff to control.
Nijhoff tries to control the position but Alan now has his back.

Nijhoff rolls, trying to escape but Alan keeps control of the position.
Well, with Alan on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Nijhoff is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Alan sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Nijhoff taps out!
