PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Dan K (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordred Deschain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). K 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Albatross, Albatross, Albatross. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan K !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mordred Deschain!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
K pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
K misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Deschain.
Some bone on bone action there as Deschain checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A nice inside leg kick there by K . That's going to slow Deschain down.

Deschain looks to throw the jab but K is out of range.
K throws a shot from downtown. Deschain moves away and avoids it.
K uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Deschain.

Deschain thuds his right hand into K 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Deschain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling K to score with a decent uppercut.

and Deschain counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Deschain fakes a jab and throws a low kick but K checks it well.
Deschain takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
K scores with a crisp jab that stopped Deschain in his tracks.
Deschain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before K can pounce on him.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

K turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Dan K seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

K takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Deschain counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Deschain takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

K tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Deschain is able to avoid easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
K dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Deschain. That did some damage!
Dan K is winning the standup battle so far.
K feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Deschain's calf.
K misses with a hook. Deschain ducked under it nicely.
K waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Deschain.
K feints and then cracks Deschain's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Deschain down.
K displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Deschain throws out the jab.

K swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Deschain counter with a right hand.
Deschain throws out a loose jab but K uses good head movement to avoid it.
K looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Deschain shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Deschain rushes K and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
K avoiding damage as Deschain throws knees to the body.
Deschain throws a head punch that misses.
Deschain tries to throw a body punch but K avoids it by throwing Deschain back against the ropes.
K lands with a left to the head.
K working aggressively here.
Deschain is trying to maintain a safe position but K gets an underhook and turns Deschain into the ropes.
Deschain's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Deschain misses with an elbow strike.
K misses with a punch on the inside.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for K .
K works on Deschain's body with a couple of short punches.
K misses with a punch on the inside.
K tries to land a knee to the head but Deschain blocks with his arms.

K breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Deschain throws a low kick, looking for K 's leg but K calmly moves out of range.
K lands a nice shot to the body.
Deschain takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Deschain takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
K throws a right hand that misses
and Deschain counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Deschain drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A big right from Deschain misses.
Deschain with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nice uppercut lands for K . That snapped Deschain's head back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
K keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Good leg kick by K there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Deschain gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
K ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deschain moves away.
Deschain scores with a nice right hand.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Deschain lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and K has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from K and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Deschain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deschain moves away from the strike by K .
Deschain stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Deschain misses with an uppercut. K saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but Dan K did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

K takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

K is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Deschain knocks K out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
