Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tarquin Fortune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamus McFey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fortune's entrance music is Going the Distance - Bill Conti . A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFey throws a head kick but Fortune moves out of range.
McFey walks into a straight right hand from Fortune.
Fortune throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McFey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A right-left combo lands from Fortune.
Fortune lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Fortune throws a body punch but McFey moves out of range.
Fortune connects with a right hand. McFey shakes it off.
Fortune lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fortune misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McFey on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fortune shoots in and gets a takedown into McFey's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fortune accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McFey is looking to sweep but instead, Fortune has passed into half guard.

Fortune is trying to work for a kimura but McFey is defending well.

Fortune is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McFey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McFey chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fortune can pounce on him.

Fortune uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McFey.
A jab lands there for Fortune.
Fortune throws a sloppy head kick and McFey moves out of range easily.
McFey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fortune throws out the jab.
Fortune closes the distance and lands a one-two.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fortune shoots in for a takedown but McFey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McFey has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Fortune misses with an uppercut
and McFey counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Fortune is lucky that one didn't land flush.

It looks like Tarquin Fortune has been cut.

McFey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Fortune connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McFey scrambles back to his feet.
