PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Go Hasegawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushi Tatizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushi Tatizu!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasegawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tatizu's waist but Tatizu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hasegawa off to one side.
No joy there for Tatizu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hasegawa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hasegawa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hasegawa is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tatizu looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hasegawa gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tatizu is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hasegawa lets go of the hold and Tatizu can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Go Hasegawa!
