Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bad Religion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
30 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Rose!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Rose.
Religion fails with the takedown
and Rose counters by clinching up.
Religion pulls guard.
Religion escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rose gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Religion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Religion has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rose can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Religion has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rose is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Religion.
Rose decides to stand back up. Rose steps back and let's Religion get back to his feet.

Religion tries for a takedown but Rose circles away easily
and Rose counters with a slapping leg kick.
Religion shoots in for a takedown but Rose shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bad Religion. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rose looking to score a takedown here. Religion is defending well but Rose drives through and ends up in Religion's guard.
Rose scoring with punches to the head and body.
Religion is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rose is aware though and is defending well.
Rose prevents Religion from getting back to his feet.

Rose decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Religion goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rose prevents it.
Rose is pushing Religion up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rose.
Religion wants a takedown.
Rose pushes Religion back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Religion tries to pull guard but Rose holds him up against the cage and eventually Religion drops back down to his feet.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rose obliges.
Rose lands a nice shot to the body.

Rose breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rose drives through and clinches with Religion against the cage.
Rose crunches a lovely knee into Religion's ribcage.
A right hand to the body from Rose.
Rose wants the takedown. Religion is fighting it off but Rose persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Religion's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rose connects with a couple of short punches.
Religion looking for subs off his back but Rose has passed one foot through into half guard.
Rose has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rose drops an elbow to the side of Religion's head.
Rose is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Religion sees it coming and defends easily.
Rose is trying to control. Religion wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rose prevents Religion from improving his position.
Rose is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Religion looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rose is looking for a kimura here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rose stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hunter Rose dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Religion misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rose looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rose is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Religion shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Rose to counter with a crisp jab.
Rose forces Religion back against the cage and clinches.
Rose's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Rose lands a left hand.
Rose has Religion pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rose pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Religion tumbling to the mat - Rose dives into Religion's guard.
Religion will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rose is breathing heavily.
Religion looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Religion is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rose rolls with it to try and escape but Religion cranks on the arm and Rose is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
