Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenata Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noburo Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahashi comes to the cage accompanied by Come to Daddy - Aphex Twin. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Noburo Kobayashi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenata Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noburo Kobayashi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobayashi looks for a takedown but Takahashi sprawls well.
Takahashi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Takahashi throws a head kick that misses.

Kobayashi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kobayashi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kobayashi wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Takahashi is trying to escape the mount.
Kobayashi looking to control and managing it successfully.

Kobayashi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Takahashi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kobayashi wants to take Takahashi's back here but Takahashi is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Kobayashi is working for a guillotine from mount but Takahashi frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kobayashi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.Kobayashi is looking to advance position but Takahashi won't allow it.

Takahashi is staying active underneath Kobayashi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Takahashi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kobayashi is working away from the top position though.

Kobayashi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Takahashi wants to get back to his feet.
Kobayashi tries to pass to full mount but Takahashi defends it.

Kobayashi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Takahashi wants to control but Kobayashi is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kobayashi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Takahashi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Takahashi throwing punches from his back. He's mounted here but still fighting back.
Kobayashi avoids the attempt from Takahashi to control.

Kobayashi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Takahashi is surviving well by controlling Kobayashi's body position as best he can.

Kobayashi has hold of Takahashi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Takahashi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Takahashi regains half guard.

Kobayashi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Takahashi defends it well.
Takahashi wants to improve his position but Kobayashi is controlling well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Takahashi tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kobayashi prevents Takahashi from standing back up.

Kobayashi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Takahashi wants to get back to full guard.

Takahashi kicks Kobayashi off and gets back to his feet.
Takahashi connects with a body shot.
Takahashi stalks Kobayashi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kobayashi's face. Kobayashi staggers backwards, shaken.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Takahashi throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Kobayashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Takahashi which made him look bad.
Kenata Takahashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noburo Kobayashi.
Takahashi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kobayashi misses with a takedown attempt - Takahashi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenata Takahashi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Takahashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kobayashi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takahashi.
Takahashi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takahashi misses with a series of wild punches.
Takahashi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Takahashi misses with a few strikes there.
Takahashi misses with a low kick.
Takahashi throws a front kick aimed at Kobayashi's knee but Kobayashi avoids it well.
Takahashi lands a left and a right that sends Kobayashi crashing to the canvas! Takahashi dives into mount looking to finish!


It looks like Noburo Kobayashi has been cut.
Kobayashi really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kobayashi gets back to half guard.
Kobayashi trying to control but Takahashi postures up.

Kobayashi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kobayashi works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kobayashi has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Takahashi has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kobayashi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Takahashi wants to control but Kobayashi is keeping him busy.
Check out the look on Takahashi's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Takahashi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kobayashi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kobayashi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Takahashi off and has taken his back!

Takahashi controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kobayashi is working for a rear naked choke. Takahashi is not defending it well and Kobayashi has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Takahashi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Takahashi's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
