Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Thompson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Thompson.
Johnson is looking for a sweep.

Thompson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Johnson is trying to get back to half guard.

Thompson tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

Thompson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thompson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thompson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Thompson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Thompson has hold of Johnson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Johnson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Thompson cranks the arm and Johnson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Johnson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
