Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Lapuz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Friday is looking for a sweep. Lapuz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Friday looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Friday with the active half guard here but Lapuz passes nicely into side control.

Lapuz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Friday doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lapuz.

Friday throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Lapuz manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Friday can't do much from the bottom here.
Friday tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lapuz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Luke Friday overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lapuz is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Friday is trying to escape and Lapuz transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Friday is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lapuz! Very nice indeed!
