Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mackie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Mackie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Hall!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackie closes the distance and clinches up with Hall, looking for a takedown. Mackie pushes Hall against the cage but Hall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mackie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mackie trying to control the position but Hall is working away.
Mackie tries to move to full mount but Hall actually manages to regain half guard.
Hall trying to hold on to Mackie's head to control him but Mackie postures up.
Hall is controlling Mackie's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Mackie tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hall controls his leg.

Hall is defending against the submission attempts here by Mackie.
Hall wants to control but Mackie is keeping busy.
Hall wants to improve his position but Mackie is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mackie shoots in looking for a takedown. Hall tries to sprawl out of it but Mackie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mackie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mackie shoots in for a double leg but Hall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Mackie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mackie scores a takedown into full mount!
Hall tries to lock up and control but Mackie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mackie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hall is looking to escape.
Hall holds on for dear life, controlling Mackie's posture momentarily.
Hall regains half guard.
Mackie prevents Hall from improving his position.
Mackie tries to stand and escape but Hall is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mackie works his way into full mount!
Hall tries to lock up and control but Mackie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mackie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hall turns into him and now he's in Mackie's guard.
Mackie is breathing heavily.
Hall slips nicely into half guard.

Hall is trying to work for a kimura but Mackie is defending well.
Mackie wants to control but Hall is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mackie moves into full guard.
Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mackie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mackie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mackie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mackie is working away from the top position though.
Mackie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hall is pressing down on Mackie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hall is trying to control the position but Mackie postures up.
Mackie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mackie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hall is keeping the position for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mackie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hall is keeping the position for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hall throws a leg kick but Mackie moved away.
Mackie closes the distance and clinches up with Hall, looking for a takedown. Mackie pushes Hall against the cage but Hall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hall looks to land a combination but Mackie avoids it well.
Hall throws a jab when Mackie was well out of range.
Hall takes a swing at Mackie's ribcage but misses.
Mackie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hall swivels and escapes.
Hall stuffs the takedown attempt from Mackie. Mackie gets slowly back to his feet.

Mackie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hall's guard.

Hall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mackie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hall is tightening it up a little... Mackie has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mackie reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mackie taps out! nice BJJ there by Hall!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ryan Hall!
