Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zhack Znenere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nil Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhack Znenere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nil Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong fails in his attempt to clinch.
Znenere will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Znenere is working for takedown but Armstrong is calmly controlling the position for now.

Armstrong shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Znenere is trying to defend but Armstrong finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Zhack Znenere just wasn't active enough.

That was a close round but I would say that Zhack Znenere will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Znenere lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Znenere moves into the clinch successfully.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but Znenere holds him up against the cage and eventually Armstrong drops back down to his feet.
Zhack Znenere has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nil Armstrong.

Znenere gets control of Armstrong's arms and successfully pulls guard. Znenere will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Armstrong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Znenere. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nil Armstrong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Znenere tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Armstrong swivels and escapes.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zhack Znenere.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Znenere, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
