With a record of 27 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonard Lewis!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poulter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Lewis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Poulter throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Lewis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Poulter's corner calls for a 1-2. Poulter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Lewis has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Poulter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Lewis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Poulter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Lewis digs a good body shot into Poulter's ribs.

Lewis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Lewis is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Poulter had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Poulter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lewis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Poulter has time to react.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Poulter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Poulter is looking to wear down Lewis with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lewis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leonard Lewis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lewis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Poulter has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Lewis throws a series of punches but Poulter avoids them all with ease.

Lewis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Poulter's head backwards.

Lewis is stalking Poulter. Poulter circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Lewis, and it's lights out! Poulter really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leonard Lewis! Leonard Lewis retains his middleweight title!
After winning the bout, Leonard Lewis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
