Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Pavil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aaron Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcos Pavil!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross slips a jab and a cross from Pavil.
Pavil jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pavil throws the left hand but Cross avoids the punch easily.
Pavil tests Cross's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cross looks for a takedown but Pavil sprawls well.
Pavil misses with a straight right.
Cross darts in looking for a takedown but Pavil gets double underhooks and turns Cross into the cage.
Pavil lands with a short shot to the head.

Pavil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pavil takes a swing at Cross's ribcage but misses.
Cross fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cross misses with a takedown attempt - Pavil sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Pavil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cross fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cross tries to clinch up but Pavil circles away and keeps his distance.
Pavil stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cross throws a head kick but Pavil moves out of range.
Pavil swinging wildly here.
Pavil throws a hook but Cross avoids it easily.
Cross shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pavil sprawls well. Pavil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cross gets slowly back to his feet.
Cross finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Pavil's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Cross falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcos Pavil!
