The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staley leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Staley which made him look bad.
Staley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Staley tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Staley is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Staley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Staley looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Jones is defending well. Staley quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Jones has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Staley celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
