Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wade Dew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edmund Dantes!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dew throws out a loose jab but Dantes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dew darts in trying to clinch

and Dantes counters with a single leg into guard. Dew didn't expect that.
Dantes wants to pass the guard but Dew is keeping the position.
Dew tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dew has his hands on Dantes's head, controlling the position.
Dew controls Dantes momentarily but Dantes frees himself.

We're going to have a standup here because Wade Dew wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Dantes throws a front kick aimed at Dew's knee but Dew avoids it well.
Dantes keeps the fight on the outside.
Dew throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Dew stuns Dantes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Dew misses with a hook. Dantes ducked under it nicely.
Dew takes one to the chin there.
Dantes cracks Dew with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dantes misses with a wild body shot.
Dantes wants to land a leg kick but Dew is out of range.
Dantes moves away from the strike by Dew.
Dew lands a nice shot that snaps Dantes's head back.
Dantes throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dew on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dantes lunges at Dew with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dew's hand.
Dantes throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dew.

Dew falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dantes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dew has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dew there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dew closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Dantes fails to land the takedown.
Dew tries to clinch
and Dantes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dantes slips a straight right by Dew.
Wade Dew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dew wants to clinch
and Dantes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Dew wants to clinch up but Dantes keeps it at a distance.
Dantes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Dantes swats away the attempt to clinch by Dew.
Dantes is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dew had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Dew throws the left hand but Dantes avoids the punch easily.
Dew tries to close the distance and clinch but Dantes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dantes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dew quickly recovers to half guard.

Dew tries to roll over but Dantes keeps him under control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Edmund Dantes.
Dew misses with a body shot.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Dew closes the distance and pushes Dantes back into the cage.
Dew lands a nice shot to the body.
Dew tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dantes's elbow.

Dew struggles to land a body shot inside as Dantes controls his hands.

Dew tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Dew is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dantes is defending well for now.

Dantes shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Dantes swats away the attempt to clinch by Dew.
Dantes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dantes's coach down at Dark Horse MMA Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dantes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Dantes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dew misses with a low kick as Dantes jumps back.
Dantes connects with the punch.
Dantes misses with a wild body shot.
Dantes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dantes throws a big shot that misses.
Dew fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dew looks to land a body kick but Dantes moved away.
Dantes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dew finds it's way round the side to connect with Dantes's head.

Dantes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dew throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dantes blocks it with crossed arms.
Dantes wants to break free but Dew has control.
Dew misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dew misses with a hook from the clinch.
Dantes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Dantes trying to control the position but instead, Dew has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dantes into the cage.
Dew misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dew digs a right hand underneath Dantes's ribcage. Dantes let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Dantes throws a head punch that misses.
Dew goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
The referee is keeping an eye on Dantes - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dantes tries to break free but Dew pushes him back against the cage.

Dantes misses with an uppercut. Dew saw that one coming.
Dew goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A lazy left from Dew finds it's target.
Dew wants to clinch up but Dantes keeps it at a distance.
Dew motions for Dantes to come forward. Dew throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Dew doesn't manage to clinch there - Dantes circles away.
Dew misses with a body kick.
Dantes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dew tries to clinch up.

Dantes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dew looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dew might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dew dodges the ground and pound from Dantes.
Dantes remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Dew takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dew is not content to let Dantes control the position.
Dew can't do much from the bottom here.

Dantes wants to control for a moment but Dew uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Dantes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dantes is looking to take a break and control but Dew is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dantes working over Dew with some ground and pound. Dew looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dew is not content to let Dantes control the position.
Dantes is stalling here. Dew is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dantes seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dew has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Dantes misses with a strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dew wants to control but Dantes is keeping him busy.
Dantes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dew off and has taken his back!

Dantes is riding his opponent, not letting Dew buck him off.
