PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Stirling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jack Stirling was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Wagner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Stirling!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A solid leg kick lands there for Stirling.
A head kick misses from Stirling.

Wagner shoots in and gets a takedown into Stirling's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Wagner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Stirling is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Stirling utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Wagner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wagner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Stirling pulls Wagner in close to prevent any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Stirling swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wagner looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Wagner shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Nice takedown defense from Stirling. No joy for Wagner on that attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stirling darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Wagner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stirling fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wagner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wagner wants to clinch up but Stirling keeps it at a distance.
Wagner throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Stirling does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Stirling - that will leave a mark!
Wagner sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Good exchange - Stirling coming out on top.


It looks like George Wagner has been cut.
Stirling cracks the inside of Wagner's front leg.
Wagner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stirling.
Stirling dodges the punch combination from Wagner.
George Wagner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wagner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stirling is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Stirling is not content to let Wagner control the position.
Wagner fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wagner tries to advance to mount but Stirling instead regains half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Stirling will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wagner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stirling moves away.
Stirling scores with a hook to the body. Wagner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Stirling moves out of range of the strikes.
Stirling stuffs the takedown.
Wagner takes one to the chin there.
Wagner avoids the body shot from Stirling.
George Wagner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stirling connects with a body shot that sends Wagner's belly button to the back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stirling throws a wild body kick that Wagner sees coming a mile off.
Jack Stirling is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Stirling lands an overhand right.
Stirling cracks Wagner with a right hand to the side of the head.
Wagner is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Stirling wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Wagner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


George Wagner's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Stirling lands with a shot to the body.

Wagner is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wagner has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stirling.

Stirling scores with a hook to the body. Wagner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wagner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stirling can pounce on him.
Stirling feints and then cracks Wagner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wagner down.

Stirling ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Stirling throws a nice outside leg kick.
Stirling thuds his shin into the meat of Wagner's side.
Wagner takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Stirling lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Wagner falls backwards - clearly groggy! Stirling dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Stirling!
An out of breath Jack Stirling thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
