Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard.
Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Patterson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wallace has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Patterson has managed to get both his arms back between Wallace's legs - danger averted.

Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Patterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Patterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wallace is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Patterson is trying to control the position but Wallace postures up.

Wallace has gone for a leg lock! Patterson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wallace's guard.

Wallace is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Patterson frees his head nicely. Oh but Wallace has switched to an armbar! Patterson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
