Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robert Schillig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shadow Deathgrip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Schillig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shadow Deathgrip!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Schillig is predictable there
and Deathgrip counters with a good low kick that Schillig was not able to check.
Schillig throws out a leg kick but Deathgrip moves out of range and Schillig only half commits.

Robert Schillig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Schillig throws a wild body kick that Deathgrip sees coming a mile off.
Deathgrip with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Schillig to score with a decent uppercut.
Deathgrip shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schillig as he jumps to the side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Deathgrip accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Deathgrip distracts Schillig with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deathgrip drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deathgrip jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Deathgrip throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schillig works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Deathgrip has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Deathgrip is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Deathgrip doesn't manage to clinch there - Schillig circles away.
Schillig fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Deathgrip has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Schillig does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Schillig is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Deathgrip's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robert Schillig.
I think Schillig has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
