Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reno Farar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sailor Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sailor Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reno Farar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sailor Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick.
Farar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Farar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Reno Farar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Farar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gracie manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Farar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Farar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Farar is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Farar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Farar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Farar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Farar perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Farar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Farar.

Farar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Farar pulls his head out easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Farar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Reno Farar will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Farar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Farar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gracie tries to buck Farar off but Farar is having none of it.

You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Farar is staying tight to Gracie's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Farar remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Gracie is trying to work for a sweep but Farar has mounted him!

Gracie is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Farar is tapping! Great win for Gracie!
