Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Mitrione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Mitrione!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Hall!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitrione manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hall on his heels. He'll look to pass Hall's guard now, I'm sure.
Mitrione seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hall trying to control the position.
Mitrione is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mitrione trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Roy Mitrione just wasn't active enough.
Mitrione changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mitrione scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hall doesn't seem bothered though.

Mitrione throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hall was covering up waiting for the punch and Mitrione finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mitrione has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mitrione is looking to stand up but Hall won't let him.
Mitrione is in close to Hall's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hall wants to sweep but no luck.
Mitrione not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mitrione seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hall for as long as he can get away with.

Hall tries for a takedown but Mitrione sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mitrione closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hall circles away.
Hall is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mitrione.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Mitrione cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Roy Mitrione seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mitrione as he avoids it easily.
Roy Mitrione has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Hall.

Mitrione closes the distance and clinches.

Mitrione wants to stand and escape but Hall is having none of it.
Mitrione has his hands on Hall's head, controlling the position.
Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mitrione swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mitrione pulls Hall in close to prevent any damage.
Mitrione's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roy Mitrione.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mitrione takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mitrione tightens his grip and picks Hall up, before dumping him to the ground. Hall manages to land in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mitrione is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hall's half guard.
Mitrione knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hall on the ground.
Hall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mitrione.
Hall tries to roll over but Mitrione keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mitrione in particular looking to stall.

Mitrione fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hall sprawls well initially but Mitrione persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mitrione lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hall won't allow Mitrione to pass to mount.
Hall is trying to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mitrione in particular looking to stall.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Mitrione feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mitrione stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mitrione makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Roy Mitrione wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hall shoots in for a double leg but Mitrione sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mitrione shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hall napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitrione tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hall takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mitrione wants to stand but Hall has his arm trapped.

Mitrione is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hall will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mitrione has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mitrione lands a few punches from side control.
Arthur Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mitrione wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Roy Mitrione overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mitrione cracks Hall with a big right hand but Hall just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Roy Mitrione showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mitrione has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
