Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Nedved (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pavel Nedved!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nedved tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hendricks shoots in for a takedown but Nedved shows good takedown defense.
Hendricks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nedved but Nedved pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hendricks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nedved is able to avoid easily.

Nedved closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nedved putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hendricks in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Hendricks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hendricks shoots in for a takedown but Nedved shows good takedown defense.
Pavel Nedved has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Hendricks.

Hendricks gets tackled into the cage by Nedved. Nedved maintains the clinch.
Nedved is trying to stall.

Nedved wants to control but Hendricks is keeping busy.
Nedved tries to kick Hendricks off but Hendricks keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hendricks wants to take a breather but Nedved is having none of it.
Nedved is looking to control Hendricks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nedved avoid being mounted?

Hendricks tries to stand and escape but Nedved is controlling the position.
Hendricks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nedved keeps working.
Nedved manages to get to full guard.
Hendricks wanted to stand there but Nedved had control of the position.

Nedved is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hendricks stands and throws Nedved's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hendricks tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Nedved is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hendricks throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hendricks wants to control but Nedved is keeping him busy.
Hendricks controlling from side mount.
Hendricks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nedved. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nedved shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hendricks defends it nicely.
Hendricks tries to clinch there but Nedved circles away.
Nedved doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hendricks counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nedved thinking.

Hendricks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hendricks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nedved is proving hard to escape from.

Hendricks is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nedved is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nedved has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nedved thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hendricks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nedved is working away from the top position though.
Nedved throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Hendricks wants to improve his position but Nedved is controlling well.
Nedved is trying to control the action in half guard but Hendricks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hendricks is looking to control Nedved's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hendricks avoid being mounted?
Nedved moves into full mount! Hendricks won't be happy about that!

Hendricks is squirming around, avoiding Nedved's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hendricks tries to hold on but Nedved postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pavel Nedved will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hendricks shoots in and drives through. Nedved sprawls well.
Nedved is looking to clinch.

Hendricks throws a strike but Nedved avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Nedved keeping moving, preventing Hendricks from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Hendricks wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nedved tries to close the distance and clinch but Hendricks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hendricks shoots in looking for a takedown but Nedved manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hendricks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Hendricks counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nedved!

Hendricks sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nedved is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I think Hendricks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
