Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaromir Jagr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredie Jewel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jaromir Jagr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredie Jewel!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jagr tries to keep at a distance but Jewel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jagr jumps guard but Jewel stands there with Jagr around his waist. Jagr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jewel jumps guard.
Jagr trying to control the position from guard on top but Jewel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jewel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jagr!
Jewel controlling the pace for now.
Jewel avoids the attempt from Jagr to control.
Jewel lands a nice shot to the head.

Jewel controlling from the full mount.
Jewel with shots to the head and body - Jagr looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jagr is squirming around, avoiding Jewel's attempts to control the action.
Jewel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Jewel is working for a guillotine from mount but Jagr frees his head quite easily.
Jewel tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Jewel lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jagr hang on?
Jewel breaks from Jagr's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jewel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jagr manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Jagr tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jewel presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Jewel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jagr's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jagr is looking to get to half guard.
Jewel wants to get back to his feet but Jagr is holding on tight.

Jewel is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Jagr knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Jagr for a finish.

Jewel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fredie Jewel wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jagr shoots for a double leg takedown but Jewel sprawls well. He's pushed Jagr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jagr shoots in for a takedown but Jewel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jewel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jagr on his heels. He'll look to pass Jagr's guard now, I'm sure.
Jewel is pushing down on Jagr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jagr is fighting to maintain full guard but Jewel has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jewel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jewel wants to pass to mount but Jagr is defending the position.

Jagr manages to get to full guard.

Jewel is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Let's hope that Jewel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fredie Jewel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jewel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jewel prevents Jagr from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jewel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jewel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jagr's guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fredie Jewel wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jewel slaps away a takedown attempt from Jagr, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jewel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jagr is trying to defend but Jewel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
