PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Hartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Con te Partiro. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Eric Hartin enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Hartin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hartin checks the leg kick.
Sanders lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Eric Hartin has been cut.

Hartin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sanders to the mat! Sanders manages to get full guard.
Hartin wants to stand but Sanders has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Sanders tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sanders pulls Hartin in close to prevent any damage.

Sanders manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hartin is squirming around, avoiding Sanders's attempts to control the action.

Sanders is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hartin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Sanders tries to control but Hartin wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hartin bucks Sanders off and manages to get back to his feet!
Sanders throws a right and a left that Hartin avoids nicely.
Sanders tries to clinch but Hartin moves out of range.
Hartin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sanders shoots in but no luck this time.
Hartin misses with a head kick.
Hartin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanders counters with a right hand to the body.
Hartin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sanders uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hartin.
Sanders cracks a nice hook into Hartin's ribs.
Sanders throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hartin's waist but Hartin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanders off to one side.
Sanders throws a chopping leg kick but Hartin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hartin throws a sloppy head kick
and Sanders counters with a two punch combo.

Sanders shoots in and bounces Hartin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Sanders is breathing heavily.
Sanders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hartin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanders stops Hartin from standing up.
Hartin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Sanders is pushing down on Hartin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hartin is fighting to maintain full guard but Sanders has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sanders drops an elbow to the side of Hartin's head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanders trying to pass the guard but Hartin defending well.
Hartin is not content to let Sanders control the position.
Hartin wants to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sanders tries to pass to full mount but Hartin defends it.
Hartin is trying to stand up here but Sanders is controlling him well.

Sanders decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Sanders shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanders showed some decent athleticism there.
Sanders thows a huge punch but Hartin dodges it nicely.
Hartin is trying to stand.

Hartin throws a series of punches but Sanders moves out of range.

Hartin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Sanders takes the fight into the clinch.
Sanders wants to break free but Hartin has control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some wild striking there from Sanders.
Sanders paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hartin throws a combination. Sanders tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hartin stuffs the takedown.

Sanders decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hartin has one foot on Sanders's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Hartin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Eric Hartin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanders misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hartin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sanders pinned against the cage. Sanders gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sanders is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Sanders counters with a series of strikes. Hartin will be more careful next time no doubt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sanders takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hartin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanders swats him away and circles back towards the center.

I would just about give that final round to Eric Hartin.
I think Hartin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
