Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shawn Barry will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Turner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barry pinned against the cage. Barry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Donk. Barry catches Turner right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Steve Turner has been cut.
Barry misses with a straight left.
Barry waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Turner.

Turner looking to score a takedown here. Barry is defending well but Turner drives through and ends up in Barry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner trying to control but Barry is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barry can do anything to dispel that myth.
Turner won't allow Barry to get back to his feet.

Turner drops back looking for a leg! Barry is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barry manages to kick Turner off! Turner jumps back into Barry's guard.
Turner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Turner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Turner is looking to work some ground and pound but Barry has wrist control.

Turner thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Barry is keeping the position.
Turner wants to control from the top but Barry keeps moving.
Barry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Turner is standing up over Barry. Barry looks to escape but Turner dives into side control.
An elbow from Turner crashes against the mat.
Barry wants to get back to his feet but Turner is dominant here and he's now got Barry's back!

Turner has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Barry has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turner lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Barry won't enjoy being in this position. Turner looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Barry is tapping - it's over boys! Turner picks up the submission victory!

A less than humble Steve Turner misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
