Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rich Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kobe Romeo Paris!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Porter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Porter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paris's guard.

Paris is looking for a triangle here but Porter uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Paris stops Porter from passing to mount.
Paris is trying to get back to his feet.
A lull in the action here as Porter stalls from top position.
Porter is looking to take a break and control but Paris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Paris is trying to improve his position.

Paris wants to control but Porter postures up.
Porter misses with the ground and pound.
Paris is not content to let Porter control the position.
Paris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Porter.
Porter controls the position from side control.
Porter prevents Paris from escaping the position.

Paris manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Porter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Paris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Porter pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Porter pulls his head out easily.

Paris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paris.
Paris throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Porter is stalling in the full guard.

Paris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Porter defends it easily.

Paris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Porter is aware though and is defending well.

Paris is looking for a triangle but Porter pushes his legs off easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paris wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Porter is now in half guard.
Paris tries to get to full guard but Porter has control of the leg.
Paris flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobe Romeo Paris dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No joy there for Porter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Porter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Porter somewhat.
Porter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paris tries to avoid it but Porter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paris to the ground. Paris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Porter misses with a two punch combination.
Paris dodges the punch combination from Porter.
Porter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Paris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Porter fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rich Porter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Porter.
Paris displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Porter.

Paris shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Porter pinned against the cage. Porter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Paris counters with a solid body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Paris.

Porter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Porter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paris on the ground.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Porter is looking to work some ground and pound but Paris has wrist control.
Porter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Paris is keeping the position for now.
Porter stands and throws Paris's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Paris wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Paris manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Porter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Paris throws a big right hand that misses.
Paris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Porter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Porter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Paris.
Kobe Romeo Paris has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Paris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Porter's guard.

Paris controlling the pace.

Paris is looking for a kimura but Porter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Paris to get the leverage.

Paris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Porter is just riding it out for now. Paris eventually gives up the hold.

Paris is trying for a kimura here. Porter looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Paris wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kobe Romeo Paris!
A less than humble Kobe Romeo Paris misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
