Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between LT Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiko Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen Who Let the Dawgs Out - Baha Men as his entrance music. Kiko Mendez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with LT Rogers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, LT Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kiko Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rogers counters with a left and a right that stings Mendez.
Mendez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rogers as he avoids it easily.
Rogers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Mendez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mendez showed some decent athleticism there.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Mendez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rogers's guard.

Mendez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mendez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mendez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Mendez works his way to his opponent's back.

Mendez is working for a rear naked choke. Rogers is not defending it well and Mendez has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Rogers refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Rogers's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kiko Mendez!
