Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slicky McGrease (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kowalski comes to the cage accompanied by Harvey - Get up and move. McGrease is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm a beast. Slicky McGrease has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 2, fighting out of London, Shawn Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Slicky McGrease!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrease tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kowalski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McGrease shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kowalski sprawls well. Kowalski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGrease gets slowly back to his feet.

Kowalski closes the distance and clinches.
McGrease has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Kowalski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kowalski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

McGrease moves into the clinch.
McGrease should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kowalski misses with a punch on the inside.
McGrease is trying to pull guard but Kowalski has him pressed against the cage.
McGrease is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kowalski to keep the fight standing.
Shawn Kowalski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slicky McGrease.
Kowalski is trying to break the clinch but McGrease is controlling him.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McGrease.
Kowalski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kowalski lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McGrease has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McGrease and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McGrease shoots in but no luck this time.

McGrease closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kowalski quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McGrease is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

McGrease working over Kowalski with some ground and pound. Kowalski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
McGrease wants to stand up but Kowalski has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Kowalski has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but McGrease is on him like a limpet, forcing Kowalski back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

McGrease is trying to maintain a safe position but Kowalski gets an underhook and turns McGrease into the cage.
McGrease tries to break free but Kowalski pushes him back against the cage.

McGrease misses with a series of wild punches.

Nice takedown defense from Kowalski. No joy for McGrease on that attempt.

and Kowalski counters with a left and a right that stings McGrease.

Kowalski drives through and clinches with McGrease against the cage.
Kowalski is looking to break free of the clinch but McGrease has double underhooks.
McGrease avoids the elbow strike from Kowalski, against the cage.
Kowalski prevents the takedown attempt.
McGrease tries to work over Kowalski's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

McGrease manages to break the clinch.
McGrease fails in his attempt to clinch.
McGrease scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Shawn Kowalski has been cut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGrease but McGrease pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McGrease fails to land the takedown.
McGrease throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kowalski.
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McGrease as he avoids it easily.
McGrease doesn't manage to clinch there - Kowalski circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like Slicky McGrease has been cut.
McGrease looks to land a combination but Kowalski avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shawn Kowalski will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McGrease shoots in for a takedown but Kowalski shows good takedown defense.
McGrease throws an off balance right hand

and Kowalski counters by moving into the clinch.

McGrease pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kowalski throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kowalski looks for the body kick but McGrease saw that one coming.

and Kowalski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kowalski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McGrease.
McGrease has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Slicky McGrease seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGrease gets tackled into the cage by Kowalski. Kowalski maintains the clinch.

McGrease swings wildly with an uppercut but Kowalski uses good head movement to avoid it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and McGrease makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kowalski really felt that one!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shawn Kowalski.
Well Kowalski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
