The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Brien tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boudreaux was well out of range. Poor timing from O Brien.
Boudreaux lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Chance Boudreaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boudreaux lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
O Brien is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Brien sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boudreaux's guard.

O Brien is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boudreaux is just riding it out for now. O Brien eventually gives up the hold.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James O Brien.

O Brien moves away from the strike by Boudreaux.
O Brien walks straight into a right hand from Boudreaux - that's dropped him! Boudreaux jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save O Brien from any more punishment! O Brien complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
