Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Riddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Riddle!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du cracks Riddle with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Some wild striking there from Du.
Good leg kick by Riddle there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Du shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Riddle as he jumps to the side.
Riddle uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Du.
Du tries a head kick but it misses.
Riddle leaves Du with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Du misses with a leg kick.
Du throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Riddle's waist but Riddle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Du off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Du. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Du throws a hook to the side of Riddle's head but Riddle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Du lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Du on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Sam Du seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Du fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riddle manages to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

John Riddle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Riddle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
