The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zaitev sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Zaitev comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

We've been told by Zaitev's head coaches at Immortals Fight Camp that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

It looks like Alexi Zaitev has been cut.

Foer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Foer throws a series of punches but Zaitev avoids them all with ease.
Zaitev tries to score with a low kick but Foer moves his leg out of the way.
Zaitev feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Foer's calf.
Zaitev throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Foer on the side of the head.
Jonny Foer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zaitev lands with a kick to the temple. Foer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zaitev, as that shot connected.
Zaitev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Zaitev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Foer controls the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Foer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zaitev sprawls well. Zaitev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Foer gets slowly back to his feet.
Zaitev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Foer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zaitev but Zaitev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
