Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Boggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mario Ventura!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boggs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ventura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ventura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mitch Boggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good exchange - Ventura coming out on top.
Ventura tries to close the distance and clinch but Boggs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Boggs gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Boggs jumps guard but Ventura stands there with Boggs around his waist. Boggs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ventura tries for a takedown but Boggs manages to get underhooks.
Ventura prevents Boggs from breaking the clinch.
Ventura keeps control of Boggs as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Boggs tries to break free but Ventura pushes him back against the cage.
Ventura tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Boggs just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ventura pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Ventura breaks from the clinch.
Ventura slaps away a takedown attempt from Boggs, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boggs misses with a double jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boggs shoots in looking for a takedown but Ventura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boggs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitch Boggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ventura tries to clinch up.
Ventura shoots in for a takedown but Boggs shows good takedown defense.
Boggs looks to score with a jab to the body but Ventura is just out of range.
Ventura shoots in for a double leg but Boggs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ventura avoids a punch combination nicely.
Boggs misses with an uppercut.
Ventura fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Ventura counters by moving into the clinch.

Ventura manages to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ventura looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ventura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ventura working a defensive guard but Boggs manages to pass into side control anyway.
The strikes coming from Boggs are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ventura being controlled for a moment.

Boggs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boggs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ventura knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Boggs happy to just control the position for now.
Ventura taking a bit of punishment here - Boggs scoring with strikes.
Boggs lands a few punches from side control.
Ventura is looking to reverse the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ventura can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Ventura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Boggs throws an elbow but Ventura slips to the side and avoids it well.

Boggs fails to land a wild elbow strike.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ventura is looking to reverse the position.
Boggs sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ventura is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Boggs staying calm.

Ventura is rocked!
Boggs scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ventura is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Boggs can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
