Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Brunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ethan Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Brunt!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles fails with a takedown attempt.
Brunt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Brunt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Miles keeps the fight on the outside.
Brunt doesn't manage to clinch there - Miles circles away.
Miles clinches but Brunt breaks the clinch
and Brunt counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Brunt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miles's guard.

Brunt drops back looking for a leg! Miles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miles manages to kick Brunt off! Brunt jumps back into Miles's guard.
Brunt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miles works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Brunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Brunt postures up in Miles's guard and throws a big left but Miles blocks it.
Miles looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brunt is one step ahead there.

Miles is trying to control but Brunt manages to pass to mount!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Miles keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Miles is squirming around, avoiding Brunt's attempts to control the action.

Brunt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Miles is looking to improve his position.
Miles desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Miles trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Brunt manages to pass to mount!

Miles is working to get back to half guard.
Brunt wants to take Miles's back here but Miles is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Brunt tries to control but Miles wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brunt looking to finish Miles with some ground and pound. This is bad for Miles!
Brunt looking to control but Miles is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Miles tries to reverse the position but Brunt maintains control.
The referee warns Miles that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Miles is looking to improve his position but Brunt isn't that keen on the idea.
Brunt breaks from Miles's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Miles trying desperately to get to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brunt is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Miles can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Miles is looking to get to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Miles tries to reverse the position but Brunt maintains control.
Miles is working hard here to advance position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brunt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Brunt tries to control but Miles wriggling away.
Miles can't escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miles tries to hold on but Brunt postures up.

Sam Brunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Miles throws a body kick that misses.

Brunt forces Miles back against the cage and clinches.
Miles tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brunt can't break the clinch.
Miles tries to pull guard but Brunt holds him up against the cage and eventually Miles drops back down to his feet.
Brunt wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Miles has him pressed against the cage.

Miles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Brunt uses from the top position.

Brunt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Brunt forces Miles back against the cage and clinches.
Brunt takes a knee right on the jaw!
Miles tries a body shot but Brunt blocks it.
Brunt on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Brunt looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Miles jumps guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Brunt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brunt passes into half guard.
Brunt is keen to just control but Miles is a slippery customer.

Brunt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Brunt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brunt is thwarting Miles's attempts to control the position.
Brunt wants to take a breather but Miles is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Miles has his takedown stuffed

and Brunt counters with a shoot takedown. Miles fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Miles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brunt wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving.

Miles is trying to keep Brunt in close.
Miles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brunt!
Brunt is controlling an arm, preventing Miles from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Brunt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Miles throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Sam Brunt has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brunt is trying to escape the mount.
Brunt wants to control but Miles is having none of it.
Miles sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

And that's the end of the fight!
Sam Brunt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Brunt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
