Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Avila might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DMX - Ain't No Sunshine. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones with a lazy takedown attempt
and Avila counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Avila looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Avila scores with a shoulder strike.
Avila lands a shot to the body.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.
Jones trying to control the action but Avila is working from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Avila gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Avila lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Jones to his knees! Avila keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Our winner, Eric Avila, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
