Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rikiya Sonoda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Mitrione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rikiya Sonoda has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rikiya Sonoda seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonoda is looking to clinch.

and Mitrione cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Mitrione counters by clinching up.
Sonoda throws a knee to the head but misses.
Mitrione tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mitrione has Sonoda pressed against the cage, preventing Sonoda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Mitrione misses with a knee to the head.
Sonoda tries to stall but Mitrione uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sonoda is trying to break the clinch but Mitrione has him pressed against the cage.
Sonoda drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mitrione pulls his leg out and moves away.

Mitrione really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonoda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sonoda is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mitrione asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sonoda is trying to escape back to his feet but Mitrione uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mitrione tries to advance to mount but Sonoda denies him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mitrione works to advance to full mount. Sonoda defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sonoda is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mitrione won't let Sonoda get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitrione closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mitrione is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Sonoda is trying to stand back up but Mitrione is controlling him
Mitrione stands up from half guard.
Mitrione closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sonoda's guard.
Sonoda wants to stand but Mitrione is controlling the position.
Mitrione sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Mitrione is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mitrione stands and steps away. Sonoda gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sonoda moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Roy Mitrione has been cut.
The fighters circling - Mitrione throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mitrione circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sonoda misses with a head kick.
Sonoda takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sonoda doesn't manage to clinch there - Mitrione circles away.
Sonoda avoids a kick to the body.
Sonoda leaves Mitrione with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sonoda throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Mitrione stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Sonoda follows into mount!
Mitrione is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sonoda loads up with a big shot that hurts Mitrione! He's pulled Sonoda in close but Sonoda has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mitrione survive? More strikes from Sonoda and Mitrione is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rikiya Sonoda!
