PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Gummidge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon Gummidge told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Johnson gets a clinch.
Gummidge misses with the head strike.
A bit of stalling here from Gummidge.
Johnson is trying to maintain a safe position but Gummidge gets an underhook and turns Johnson into the cage.

Gummidge lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gummidge's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gordon Gummidge wasn't active enough on the ground.

It looks like Gordon Gummidge has been cut.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Gummidge against the cage.

Gordon Gummidge has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Johnson throws a head kick but Gummidge moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gummidge. That's going to slow Johnson down.

and Johnson counters with a head kick that drops Gummidge to the mat! Gummidge scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

and Johnson counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
