The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? LaRussa is fending him off so far but Choy persists. Nope, LaRussa circles away and we're back to standing.
Choy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has LaRussa pinned against the cage. LaRussa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
LaRussa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Eddie Choy has been cut.
Choy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Choy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
LaRussa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Choy.

LaRussa drives through and clinches with Choy against the cage.
LaRussa lands a right hand that snaps the head of Choy backwards.
Choy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. LaRussa just stands there and leans against the cage.
LaRussa just leaning against Choy, taking a breather.

LaRussa breaks the clinch.
LaRussa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oooh a lovely combination from LaRussa sends Choy down but not out. LaRussa dives into side control looking to finish.

Choy is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaRussa scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Choy is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and LaRussa can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
