Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brett Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omppu Vehree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vehree has chosen Lucifer as his entrance music. The key to victory for Brett Mason has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vehree has his takedown stuffed
and Mason counters with a nice body shot.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vehree accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vehree throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mason's waist but Mason gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vehree off to one side.
Vehree walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Vehree looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mason is fending him off so far but Vehree persists. Nope, Mason circles away and we're back to standing.
Vehree looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vehree walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mason.
Vehree drives through and clinches with Mason against the cage.

Brett Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Omppu Vehree.

Mason looks up at the clock and then as Vehree takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mason smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vehree stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vehree wants it to stay on the feet.
Vehree changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mason looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brett Mason.
