The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sajdak scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sajdak tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Assassin.
Sajdak stalling away here and it's allowed Assassin to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sajdak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Assassin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sajdak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Sajdak wasn't active enough on the ground.

Sajdak shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Assassin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sajdak goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Assassin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sajdak but great work by Assassin.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Assassin has hold of Sajdak's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sajdak tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Assassin cranks the arm and Sajdak screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sajdak, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
