Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Burma Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Cass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Burma Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Cass!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a right hand
and Cass counters with a slapping leg kick.
Cass throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Burma Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cass's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Cass escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cass preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones postures up in Cass's guard and throws a big left but Cass blocks it.

Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cass wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jones is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Burma Jones.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Cass is just out of range.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jones misses with a looping left.
Jones throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Cass counters with a nice leg kick.
Jones misses with an uppercut. Cass saw that one coming.
Jones throws the left hand but Cass avoids the punch easily.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cass!

Cass is looking for a sweep.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Cass takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones cracks Cass with a big right hand but Cass just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jones is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cass's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cass was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Cass, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Cass against the cage but Cass circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cass slips a straight right by Jones.
Cass shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cass's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cass should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Jones stays in close to Cass's body and controls the position.
Jones pushes down on Cass's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cass is breathing heavily.

Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Cass has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones stalling.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Cass's hands, connecting with Cass's forehead.
Jones passes to full mount!
BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jones landing punches.
Cass takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Cass is in a horrible position here. Jones smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burma Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cass napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cass is trying to buck Jones off.
Cass takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cass takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Jones looks up at the clock and then as Cass takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Cass on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cass down.

You can see the frustration on Cass's face as Jones controls the position.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cass for as long as he can get away with.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burma Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
