Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingo Takeda!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Koshi Tatsu!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatsu tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Takeda tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tatsu swivels and escapes.
Takeda works the jab nicely.
Takeda missing with a left hand there. Tatsu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Takeda throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Tatsu has his takedown stuffed
and Takeda counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tatsu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Takeda counters with a three punch combo that has Tatsu backing up. Tatsu nods at Takeda to acknowledge the strikes.

and Takeda counters with a big head kick but Tatsu shrugs it off.
Tatsu is rocked!
Shingo Takeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koshi Tatsu.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Takeda throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Tatsu stumbling backwards into the ropes! Tatsu bounces back off the ropes towards Takeda, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Takeda lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Takeda celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Shingo Takeda!
