Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between SHINYA AOKI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and david torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). AOKI comes to the ring accompanied by Naruto - Blue Bird. david torres has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
torres tries to clinch but AOKI is having none of it.

torres closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
AOKI is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
torres fails in his attempt to clinch.

torres throws a series of punches but AOKI moves out of range.
torres throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around AOKI's waist but AOKI gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing torres off to one side.

david torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

AOKI closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

AOKI is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. torres knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

AOKI is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. torres looks calm but he's in trouble here. AOKI gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. torres is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! AOKI lets go of the hold and torres can pop his arm back in it's socket.
