Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Black is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dominic Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Black!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lewis is fending him off so far but Black persists. Nope, Lewis circles away and we're back to standing.

Black closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lewis quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Black not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Black is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Lewis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Black looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Black pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lewis is keeping the position for now.
Black wants to stand and escape but instead Lewis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Black is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lewis wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black seems keen to control Lewis's posture.
Black wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Black can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lewis passes Black's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Lewis is looking for a kimura here.
Black wants to control but Lewis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Black is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

Black looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Black has his hands clasped together around Lewis's back. He's all about the action.
Lewis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Black is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lewis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lewis's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black tries to get the hooks in deep but Lewis pushed the leg off.
Lewis trying to control the position but Black manages to sink in the hooks.
Black is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Lewis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Black is throwing strikes by Lewis counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Lewis regains half guard.
Lewis is refusing to be controlled, as Black sits in half guard.
Black wants to free his trapped foot but Lewis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Black is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Black is controlling the pace.
Black lands strikes from half guard.
Black is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Black missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Black thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lewis's head.
Black working Lewis over with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Black dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Black drives through with a takedown into guard.
Black sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Black pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lewis is keeping the position for now.
Black lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Black wants to stand but Lewis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lewis keeping moving, preventing Black from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Black hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lewis missing with a left hand there. Black was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Black tries a head kick but it misses.
James Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lewis to the mat! Lewis manages to get full guard.


Lewis is rocked!
Black is working Lewis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Oh Lewis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Black sitting in guard here, content to control.

Black drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Black jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Black's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Black gets to his feet and stands over Lewis, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lewis felt that one! Black unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lewis from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Black!
